BriefWave ("we", "us", "our") is a content digest service operated from the United Kingdom. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
1. Data we collect
When you sign up and use BriefWave, we collect:
- Account information — your name, email address, and optionally your phone number (for WhatsApp delivery) and Telegram chat ID
- Content preferences — the YouTube channels, Substacks, podcasts, Medium authors, and other sources you subscribe to
- Payment information — processed and stored securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number
- Digest history — a record of which summaries we've sent you, to avoid duplicates
- Usage data — basic server logs (timestamps, errors) to keep the service running reliably
2. How we use your data
- Generate and deliver your personalised daily content digest
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send you service-related communications
- Improve the service
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Third-party services

4. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, your data is retained until you request deletion, then removed within 30 days.
5. Your rights (UK GDPR)
- Access — request a copy of your data
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

6. Data security
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
- API keys stored in secure environment variables, never in source code
- Webhook signature verification on payment endpoints
7. Cookies
BriefWave does not use cookies for tracking or analytics.
8. Children
BriefWave is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email.
